Aerial shot of Niles

This color aerial postcard of Niles is from around the 1960’s--before the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers converted Alameda Creek into the Alameda Creek Flood Control Channel in 1971-1972. The small lakes in this image were created from the abandoned sand and gravel pits and are now part of the Niles Community Park.
